The I Ching

Divination with the I Ching

Welcome to the beautiful world of The I Ching-- The Book of Changes.  This is one of the earliest tools in divination, following the use of bones it has evolved from the pulling of yarrow sticks, to the modern use of just three coins cast six times.

Predating The Tao Te Ching, the transformation of Yin (broken lines) and Yang (solid lines) has influenced nearly every philosophy of China: Zen, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, to name a few.

By looking to nature’s transformations for a new perspective on life, we can appreciate how the human condition is reflected in the elements of our world.

With the balance of the active force of Yang, and the  magnetic field of Yin, we can see the waxing and waning of force and ease, growth and decay, release and accumulation.

You may want to record your casts on a piece of paper to hold your focus, and use the coins below to represent each one.

🔮So without further ado, perform the rituals that feel right in your heart and set your intentions as you prepare to confer with your ancestors’ wisdom, harnessing one of the oldest tools in history.

Cup your hands and shake the bones -err- coins--  and cast them in front of you.

I love the interpretation of the I Ching by Kari Hohne, so her interpretation will be pulled in the page below.

May the Tao be ever in your favor :)
